The first tranche disbursement comes as a huge sigh of relief for the 16 clubs who are running on empty kitty.
SuperSport has paid the 16 clubs of the Ghana Premier League Gh¢ 27,000 ($12,500) each as first tranche disbursement of the estimated $700,000 TV rights sponsorship.
The South Africa-based broadcasters have secured the right to show the Ghana top flight live as well as the MTN FA Cup for the 2013-14 season.
The broadcasting giants telecast two league games every weekend whiles the FA Cup begins in November.
The amount paid comes as a huge sigh of relief for most of the cash-strapped clubs participating in the league since the previous sponsors Glo have failed to honour their contractual obligation to the Ghana FA making it difficult for the teams to pay bonuses among other pressing needs.
