The head of the technical committee of the Ghana FA is not impressed with the individual performance of the Local Black Stars and feels they should not be rushed into the main team.
A football technical brain Ben Koufie has kicked against drafting any of the home-based Ghana players into the mainstream senior national team the Black Stars.
The Ghana FA’s technical head was emphatic that “none of them deserves a place in the team” despite qualifying the team to the semi-final stage of the African Nations Championship in South Africa (CHAN).
“I have seen them play and they will not command a place on the full team. We cannot single it out and say this player has been excellent so we need to include him,” Koufie was quoted by Footy-Ghana.
“They have done well as a team but individually no. Konadu has done an excellent job, but to say somebody should be called for the Black Stars proper I will confidently say no.”
He added: “We have to groom them. We should not rush them but rather try to build them up so that when they get there we will all benefit.”
