Head of the Ghana Football Association technical directorate Francis Oti Akenten has described Maxwell Konadu as a genius for reaching the final of the CHAN tournament.
Akenten, a member of CAF’s Technical Study Group for the tournament, praised the former Asante Kotoko coach for his tactical ingenuity and team selection.
He points out that Konadu has brought competition in the squad.
“Maxwell is a genius no doubt about his understanding of the game,” Akenten told GHANASoccernet.com.
“He carefully used every player in the team and got them fighting for the shirt.
“He has used every member of the team except the two keepers and I can’t remember when last that happened in a competition. For me I know his capabilities and he will even get better.”
Ghana beat Nigeria’s Super Eagles 4-1 on penalties in the semi-final on Wednesday after holding the Super Eagles to a 0-0 draw with ten men.
