Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has heaped praise on his Ghanaian conquerors insisting the Black Stars deserved to win their semi-final clash at the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Local Black Stars defeated their arch rivals 4-1 on penalties on Wednesday night to reach the final of the tournament.
Ghana will now play Libya in Saturday’s final and Keshi was gracious enough to give credit to his conquerors.
“Congratulations to Ghana for qualifying for the final. In a game of two competent sides it is always difficult to emerge winners unfortunately tonight it is Ghana who goes through,” Keshi said.
“The better side won tonight although there wasn’t much to choose between the two sides, apart from minor differences and some important saves made in the match.”
Keshi also paid tribute to his players, saying he had identified some to join his World Cup squad, but declined to mention names.
“All in all l feel these boys have had a good CHAN tournament and there are some among them who we have noted for World Cup but for now we will not reveal their names.”
Nigeria will take on Zimbabwe, who also lost on penalties to Libya, in the third place playoff.
