Championship strugglers Barnsley have completed the signing of Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong for an undisclosed fee.
The club announced on their website: “Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has signed for the Reds for an undisclosed fee. “The 22-year-old has penned a permanent deal at Oakwell until 30th June, 2014.”
He has also had loan spells at Fulham, Charlton and Wolves in the last two years.Several Premier League and Championship clubs are thought to have approached the Gunners about signing the 22-year-old in recent weeks.
Frimpong, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has now completed his move to the Tykes, which lasts six months. He made his Ghana debut in the World Cup qualifier against Sudan in March 2013.
