Congolese Football Federation (Fécofoot) President Jean Michel Mbono has hinted that his body will officially drag Ghana to CAF and the IOC over the alledged age cheating revelations leveled against the Ghana U-23 National Team, Black Meteors.
Head coach of Congo Brazzaville U-23 team, Claude Leroy questioned the ages of the Black Meteors following his side’s 1-0 defeat in the first leg tie last Saturday in an Olympics games qualifier at the Accra sports stadium.
And Ghanasportsonline.com has gathered reports that the Fécofoot is not taking it for granted and has arranged a meeting with the French Coach in order to prove the authenticity of the allegations for further action, if the coach is able to provide further evidence to support his claims.
In an exclusive interview with Ghanasportsonline.com, Leroy revealed that the Congolese Federation President called for a meeting with the coach in Point Noire following his age cheating outburst and the Fecofoot will proceed to officially notify CAF and the International Olympic Committee on the issue.
"You say I'm doing talking because I lost and it is allegation and allegation but the Federation President called me and I'm supposed to meet him and we see the next.
"I can say that the action will be taken and I am not the right person to do but if Michel (Mbono) is concerned about it then we will go the extra to the authorities to see with the evidence".
Leroy accused Ghana of using over age players in the first leg of the Olympic Qualifier in Accra.
“I coached some of the players who played today in the CHAN qualifiers in 2008. I went to Niger with them and I know what I’m talking about.”
“I am not joking my brother, you can check. Some played with me way back in 2008 and they are now U23 playing today, it’s not fair”. Leroy stressed.
The Black Meteors will travel to Congo in two weeks time for the second leg tie.
