Ex-Black Stars player, Mohammed Polo has asked the Ghana Football Association to give him the Black Satellites or the national U-17 team, the Black Starlets, claiming he is the only person to bring back the glory days of our junior national teams.
Since the success story of Ghana’s victorious team that won the U-20 World Cup in Egypt, Ghana has since not been able to present a formidable team that can conquer the world.
According to him, the just ended U-20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand saw Mali eliminating the Black Satellites team at the last 16 stage following a poor performance by Sellas Tetteh’s team, making the team to exit the tournament at an early stage.
Sellas Tetteh failed to improve at the World Cup but and Polo feels it is time to try other hands.
“For so long, Ghana have failed to qualify for the junior tournament especially the U-17, what is wrong with our junior national team? Polo asked.
“I don’t think the current leaders of the junior national are doing their best...if indeed they’re doing well, Ghana would not have been banned for using over aged players,” he added.
According to the ex-legend of Ghana, he will be ready to take up the U-17 or the U-20 jobs and wants the football association to hand him the job with immediate effect.
Mohammed Polo enjoyed a torried time at Accra Hearts of Oak after he was sacked for poor performance in the league.
