Former Ghana coach Mariano Barreto is not ruling out a possible return to coach the Black Stars.
The 58-year-old left his post in 2004 after returning from a disappointing tournament with the Black Meteors at the Olympic Games where the team failed to qualify out of the Group stages.
Barreto who played a role in Ghana’s maiden appearance at the FIFA World Cup after guiding the team to a bright start in the qualifiers says he is ready to make a return to the team should the opportunity avails.
“If I receive a call from the Ghana Football Association, I will be in Ghana immediately, he told Starr FM.
“I always remember the good times I had in coaching the Black Stars and I always felt at home in Ghana because Ghanaians are very nice people.”
The Portuguese trainer joined Maritimo after a successful short stint with the Black Stars.
