Newly appointed Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye has boastfully stated that he will compel Black Stars coach Avram Grant to stay in Ghana insisting Grant is taking Ghanaians for a ride.
According the former sports broadcaster, his administration will not permit the Israeli trainer to be staying outside the country and be paid at the end of the month.
“Grant was not signed to take $50,000 to stay outside the country. He was signed to stay in Ghana and work and I will force him to stay. He can’t do that under my administration,” Nii lante told Nyira FM in Kumasi on Thursday morning.
“I can assure Ghanaians that since I have assumed office, I will compel Avram Grant to be accountable for the work he is doing."
“I will never agree for a coach who has been employed to coach the national team be doing TV commentaries abroad for two years and be given that amount."
How much does the President of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Maham even receive at the end of a month? He can’t take us for a ride. Ghanaians should trust me because I will stop him,” he added.
The former Chelsea boss was recently summoned by the Ghana FA to return to post after spending close to three months outside the shores of the West African country.
