The founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has expressed disappointment in Ghanaians who supported opponents of the national team at the ongoing AFCON tournament because of politics.
For him, his support will always be for the Black Stars because they represent Ghana. He further charged the team to put in their best efforts in order not to disappoint Ghanaians in future tournaments.
The entrepreneur said he was eagerly waiting for the third place game between Ghana and Burkina Faso with hope.
He wrote on his Facebook wall: “When the Egyptians and Cameroonians threatened before AFCON to prevent us from winning the cup again, I shouted loudly, "Onaapo!" Luckily I did not bet with money. And now I find out that some citizens were supporting Cameroon to win on Thursday because of politics. Ebei o! Win or lose, I am for the Black Stars forever. I will even watch Saturday's third place match with enthusiasm. But, please, Black Stars, ‘don't do us like that!’”
The Black Stars will play against the Stallions on Saturday, February 4 at 19:00GMT.
