Head Coach of Asante Kotoko S/C, Zdravko Logarusic, has defended the team’s style of play and says, that is not going to be varied.
His tactic of packing the midfield has come under strong criticism but he remains obstinate.
Kotoko with the 3-5-2 tactical formation had gone unbeaten in three premier league matches - won two and drawn one.
They are lying second on the league table, with seven points.
Croatian Coach Logarusic, interacting with journalists in Kumasi, insisted that the strategy best suited the team, considering the quality of players at its disposal.
The aim is to strengthen the midfield and by so doing add more bite to the attacking machinery, while preventing the team from conceding goals.
Kotoko had since the start of the 2016/2017 season conceded only a goal in three matches - beat Liberty Professionals 2-1, drew 0-0 with Berekum Chelsea, and defeated Bechem United 1-0.
The coach, in the course of Kotoko’s match against Bechem on Wednesday, incurred the displeasure of supporters as their darling club found it difficult to break down the visitors.
As the going got tough, Coach Logarusic was forced into making three quick substitutions in the second half, introducing Tuffour Frimpong, Baba Mahama and Kwame Boateng to replace Kwame Boahen, Seth Opare and Yakubu Mohammed, respectively.
The deadlock was broken in the 85th minute, courtesy the individual brilliance of Emmanuel Gyamfi, earning Kotoko a spot-kick, which was converted by Abeiku Ainooson.
Mr. Stephen Sah, an executive member of the Ashanti Regional Kotoko Circles Council, in an interview with the GNA Sports, said the supporters were unease about how the players had been struggling to adapt to the coach’s preferred tactical formation.
“We prefer the Coach to revert to our traditional 4-4-2 system to save us the pressure during matches”, he added.

What non....sense!!! Supporter dictating to the Manager? He should take up the job and let the coach go.
@Kofi are the supporters holding or from his I d I o t ic formations? He can eve adopt a formation whereby they score goals. He can even sack or sell all the strikers
Who cares? After all there's only one coach. He can continue with his ***barred word*** formation. Who cares? He can even play 2-7-2, who cares? He can use two goalkeepers at same time. Hehehe, who cares. But Kotoko should never complain about goals scoring with this stuiuupid formations. Folks, mark my words this wrestler, sorry coach, will be sacked before the season ends. ***barred word*** how can such dumb break supporters hearts anytime the team is playing.
what is traditional 4-4-2? what has won for Ghana? masa leave the coach alone to do his work. Players should learn to adopt to systems and should not be static. Look at chelsea, they have adopted to the 3-4-3 formation. Lets give the coach time and he will deliver.
the management and supporters should leave the coach alone to do his job; i believe he knows better
