Adding yet another upset to the Wimbledon 2011, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated Roger Federer in five sets on Wednesday, eliminating the world's number three ranked player from the tournament.
Federer distanced himself with an early lead, claiming the first two sets 3-6, 6-7, only to drop three consecutive sets to the Frenchman Tsonga, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
The defeat ends Federer's run at a 17th Grand Slam title and 7th Wimbledon championship.
The door is now open for Rafael Nadal to make another run at the Wimbledon final, Spaniard faces off today against American Mardy Fish on court number one.
This is hardly the first upset of Wimbledon 2011. On the ladies side, both Williams sisters were defeated in round 4 action, with Venus falling to Tsvetana Pironkova and Serena dropping her match to Marion Bartoli.
