Following a directive from the President for the immediate auditing of the accounts of all metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs), more details of the state of indebtedness of and malfeasance at the assemblies have emerged. The directive followed the discovery of huge debts, running into millions of Ghana cedis, at 21 MMDAs in the Western and Brong Ahafo regions.
