Misleading The Flock In The Name Of Religion

Karl Marx once said that “Religion is the opium of the masses.” The German Communist Political Philosopher and Economist in a Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right (1843), observed that "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people". By this assertion, Marx intended to set the premise on which the issue of wrong influence of religion could be addressed.
