Chief Imam Lauds Christian Council

The National Chief Imam, Dr. Osmanu Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu, has commended the Christian Council of Ghana for its benevolent act of purchasing a dialysis machine for the 37 Military Hospital for public use and urged Muslims to do same. Dialysis machine is used to remove waste and excess water from the body, and serves as artificial replacement for people suffering from renal failure as a result of kidney malfunction. I make a special appeal to the well-to-do Muslims in Ghana to contribute their quota in these great initiatives, certainly Allah the Almighty, will reward you each time a person is being attended to on the machine, Sheikh Sharubutu said in a statement to the press. He called on Muslims to pray for perpetual peace and development as we march towards intensive campaign period in 2012. Muslims and non-Muslims enjoy peaceful ambience, tolerance and understanding with religious counterparts and other faith group on Ghana, the statement said, adding, we should not compromise on these characteristics of our nations development that can only warrant our progress and prosperity to the desired heights. Dr. Sharubutu, therefore, called on regional and district Imams to incorporate the teaching of religious tolerance and understanding, religious education on poverty eradication, youth empowerment and human rights in their daily preaching and Friday sermons.
