Curfew Imposed On Kpatinga As Uneasy Calm Returns to the Area

The Northern Regional Security Council has imposed an 8pm to 6am curfew on the town of Kpatinga and its environs following the continuous days of unrest in that area. Following reports on the insecurity in Kpatinga, the District Chief Executive for Gushegu, Alhaji Alhassan Fuseini has told Citi News that calm has returned to the area. The Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Hon. Thomas Nassah had earlier expressed worry over the Kpatinga situation which he said led to some residents fleeing the area to satellite communities. The Ministry of Interior in consultation with the Northern Regional Security Council imposed curfew on Kpatinga as a result of skirmishes that characterized the arrest of Kpatinga Chief, Naatogmah Ziblim. But the Gushegu DCE who is the District Security Council Chairman maintained that calm had returned to the area which paved way for the continuation of the voter registration exercise. **
