Bukom Banku Bides Time For World Title Shot

Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku will have to bide his time for a world title shot after management of WBO title holder Nathan Cleverly agreed terms for a potential blockbuster unifier in the division against either Chad Dawson or the legendary Bernard Hopkins. Banku, the No. 3 contender to the title held hopes of a shot at the Englishmans title after his successful title defense against Ugandas Hamza Wandera, but it looks like his poor showing in the fight coupled with the greater marketing value of a Cleverly bout against either Dawson or Hopkins has cost him. Cleverly will defend his title against Kosovan Kosniqi on April 28, the same day that Hopkins will face Dawson in the United States. Golden Boys Richard Schaefer, promoters of Hopkins and Frank Warren, promoters of Nathan Cleverly have already mooted the 90,000 capacity Millenium Stadium in Wales as a potential venue for the super bout. Meanwhile, Bukom Banku is in camp preparing for his next fight against a yet to be named opponent on the Joseph Agbeko versus Michael Domingo bill on the 26th of May, 2011.
