MDA Hands Over Six Classroom Block And Borehole In Ashanti

The Millennium Development Authority has constructed a six unit classroom block and a borehole for the community of Apaa in the Mampong Municipality of Ashanti. The facilities were constructed from a 140 thousand dollar facility from the Millennium Challenge Account. Executive Director of the MDA, Martin Esson-Benjamin says construction of the new school building aims at improving educational facilities in the small farming village. The borehole is also to alleviate the plight of mother and children who have to walk long distances in search of water. Commissioning the project at Apaa, he stressed the Authority will continue to disburse money from the Millennium Challenge Account equitably across the nation, to ensure sustained developed. Three other communities in the Mampong Municipality, Kofiase, Yonso and Mperim have also had boreholes with mechanized pumps constructed from the One hundred and forty thousand dollar package. Mr. Esson Benjamin charged residents of Apaa and the other communities to ensure the structure is well maintained. Krontihene of Apaah, Nana Agyapong Ntrah expressed appreciation to government and the Millennium Development Authority for the classroom block. He commended the contractor Berock Ventures Limited for doing a quality job and finishing all the projects allocated it on ahead of schedule. Chief Executive of Berock Ventures Limited, Courage Dogbegah thanked the communities for providing the needed support during the construction of the projects.
