Displaced Gushegu Residents Seek Shelter In School After Rains

The residents of Deyidole in Gushegu of the Northern Region of Ghana, have resorted to the Deyidole L.A Primary School for shelter due to the failure of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to provide them relief items. The town was hit by a rain storm a week ago, destroying 28 houses and rendering several others homeless. Speaking in an interview with Citi News, the Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Thomas Nasah there is no place they can live right now. The lawmaker said his outfit is working towards other means of assistance. He pointed out that he does not know how many people are using the school which was destroyed after the rains. They are many, he added. In a related development, victims of last weeks Navrongo rains would receive relief items on Thursday. According to the Upper East Regional Coordinator of NADMO, Patrick Akake, the items have being dispatched already.
