The Ga Dangme Youth Association says the Greater Accra Regional Security Council has no mandate to stop the youth from enforcing the ban on drumming and noise making.
The Security Council had earlier cautioned the youth in the Ga State against taking the law into their hands.
There have been recent clashes between some youth and some churches over the alleged violation of the ban.
The ban on drumming and noise making which ends on the 7th June precedes the Homowo festival of the Gas.
According to the Greater Accra Regional Council, a special task force comprising the Police and some representatives of the traditional council has been mandated to enforce the ban.
But the Vice President of the Ga Dangbe Youth Association, Nii Mama Markwei speaking to XYZ News said the youth will not sit unconcerned if religious groups violate the ban.
�If people are violating the law, do they want the youth to sit down for people to violate the law? He asked adding �they are not everywhere so if people are helping them to get this ban enforced they should rather appreciate it�.
