Appiah Fails To Convince Asamoah Gyan To Return

Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah failed in his bid to have Asamoah Gyan available for the World Cup qualifiers in June. Appiah traveled to Dubai last week to meet with the Al Ain striker with the sole aim of having the 26-year-old come out of temporary retirement for the games against Lesotho and Zambia. The conspicuous absence of the on-loan Sunderland ace from the latest provisional Black Stars squad released on Wednesday however proved Appiahs bid was unsuccessful.
