Public Sector Workers Urged To Collaborate With Govt

Mr. Victor Smith, the Eastern Regional Minister has challenged public sector workers to put the interest of the nation first and work assiduously towards the forward march of the country. He said an effective collaboration between the government, public sector workers and other stakeholders will bring about accelerated development of the country of which the citizens will be the beneficiaries. He warned those who for their own parochial interest and political alignments try to work against government to desist from it since that attitude only resolve in years of stagnation of the countrys development. What is the point, what if that your party never comes to power, you contributed to the under-development of the country. He lamented. The minister who was addressing workers of the Kwahu East and South District Assemblies at separate meetings said any government that have succeeded elsewhere, succeeded because they work well with the public sector. He therefore called for attitudinal change towards work and judicious use of the time to help the government meet the need and aspirations of the citizenry. The minister also sent signal that he will not hesitate to sanction non-performing workers, contractors and government officials who may sabotage government in their line of duty and urged them to give-out their best. Meanwhile, the Presiding Member for Kwahu East, Doris Opare-Boafo, appealed to the minister to use his office to ensure the road from Nkawkaw through Atibie is reconstructed, adding that its current deplorable state is a threat to human lives.
