FWSC To POTAG: Were Not Responsible For Your Salary Ills

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC)has expressed surprise at the leadership of the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana, POTAG, for citing them as being responsible for the delay in the payment of their single spine salaries. POTAG has resumed their suspended strike on Monday following what they describe as the apathetic attitude on the part of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to complete their migration onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS). Speaking to Citi News, the Head of Public Affairs at the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, Earl Ankrah said POTAG should direct all its grievances to the Controller and Accountant Generals Department as Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has concluded its part of the process. According to Earl Ankrah, its a complete surprise to me because POTAG is aware of the fact that Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has completed way in advance, their migration process. As we speak right now, their documentation and every data is with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning possibly even with Controller and Accountant General. Its for POTAG to make those verifications but weve done our part and Im completely surprised that they mentioned Fair Wages and Salaries Commission in their press statement. Everybody in Ghana knows that for your salary to hit your bank account that is generated from the Controller and Accountant Generals Department. They are misdirecting their frustration, you dont mention FWSC when you know it has nothing to do with us.
