The return of Ghanaian Hiplife star, Asem onto active music scene is turning out to be stronger than was anticipated. Asem has made it on the �THIS IS AFROBEATS� MUSIC Compilation which also features some of the biggest superstars on the scene such as 2face, P-square, Naeto C, and 9ice. The music compilation is made by a major pioneer of the new African music scene, BBC Radio 1Xtra�s Dj Edu. From the streets of Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, the UK & North America comes the musical genre that is young vibrant and fresh called "Afrobeats". The name stems from "Afrobeat" a powerful, raw and organic form of African music made popular in the 70's by Fela Kuti & Tony Allen. "Afrobeats" can best be described as the sound of young Africa incorporating modern music & production techniques and fusing them with African sounds, melodies and rhythms. "Afrobeats" is definitely here to stay, as a unique form of music full of colour, vibrance, independence with great dance moves to go with it and a whole continent behind it. This is not a Revolution. This is a Hostile Takeover. Soon after the release of the �SOLID GROUND� album, Asem has taken to work on many projects as well as working closely with the Ghana Library Board to improve reading skills of children.
