Zambia Awarded 3 Points To Top Group D

Unconfirmed reports say Zambia has been awarded the three (3) points on the intentional oversight by Sudan national football team for using an ineligible player Sail Ali, who was suspended. This means that the Zambian team has automatically shot to the top of the summit of group D of the Brazil 2014 world cup qualifiers with 6 points seconded by Ghana with 3 points. Sudan fielded Sail Ali, scorer of the second goal, in Zambias 2-0 defeat on June 2 but records show he was ineligible for the match as he was suspended. The scandal in Sudan has caused a stir in that country with the Sudan Football Association secretary Hassan Saed calling for the formation of the commission of enquiry and resignation of the association president Hope Atbara. According to alsad.net Saed said the Sudan FA was taking solace in the fact that Zambia had not pushed in an official complaint with FIFA. This is a scandal and a farce and a real emphasis on the lack of follow-up and attention within the Union, he said. According to the FIFA Disciplinary Code Chapter II, Section 2, Disorderliness at matches and Competitions Article 55, 1 States: If a player takes part in an official match despite being ineligible, his team will be sanctioned by forfeiting the match (cf art.31) and paying a minimum fine of Swiss Francs 6,000.
