Confusion Hits NDC Meeting

IT HAS emerged that the seeming leadership paralysis in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) which top guns in the party have been trying in vain to sweep under the carpet reared its ugly head during a party meeting Saturday nearly resulting in a scuffle. The paper has gathered that the NDC strategic meeting at the TUC Conference Room in Kumasi was temporarily characterized by verbal assaults after a party official expressed concern over the present weak leadership of the party. Before the said NDC official, whose name was not known, could finish his statement, all the other participants started raining insults on him in unison, DAILY GUIDE has been hinted. A source at the closed-door marathon meeting who divulged the information on condition of anonymity said, the NDC official that expressed concern over the partys leadership problem, regretted opening his mouth too wide. He said the other party members who were furious over the mans observations, quickly unleashed insults on him from all directions, making him feel embarrassed. Though most of the participants at the meeting were equally not happy about the leadership problems, they dared not pour out their concerns, fearing they might be harshly treated as well. The strategic meeting attended by party bigwigs including National Chairman, Kwabena Adjei, was geared towards enabling the party to strategize for the December national elections. Top government officials, national, constituency, NDC parliamentary candidates and MDCES attended the one-day meeting which the party used to plot how to win the general elections at all cost. The source said the meeting was going peacefully until the said NDC man stood up and poured out his frustration. The source stated that other party members, especially those aligned to NDC founder Jerry John Rawlings also had some concerns about the manner in which the party was being run but decided to keep mute over it. He said at the end of the meeting which lasted several hours, he saw some of the participants murmuring against the partys leadership paralysis. The strategic meeting which was used to adopt a campaign strategy for the polls was also attended by NDC top guns from five regions including the host region, Brong Ahafo and the three northern regions.
