Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has been advised by his family not to take penalty kicks as he returns into the Black Stars squad. Opanin Gyan, father of the former Sunderland striker, added that the Ghana Football Association and coach, Kwasi Appiah, were instrumental in the striker�s decision to overturn his decision of quitting the Black Stars. Gyan announced his indefinite retirement from the Black Stars after Ghana�s fourth-place finish at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. Ghana lost out on a place in the finals after falling 1-0 to eventual champions, Zambia, in a match which saw Gyan miss a penalty in the early minutes. Several death threats were posted on his twitter page in the aftermatwhich prompted his decision to quit the national team. Now with a return on the cards, Opanin Gyan says his son should not take penalty kicks for the Black Stars in future. �The family has advised him not to rush to take penalties,� Opanin Gyan said. The player-cum-musician adduced as reason a psychological trauma he battled since his penalty miss against Uruguay in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
