Okudzeto Ablakwa Is "Sometimes Stupid" - Kofi Wayo

The flagbearer of the United Renaissance Party (URP), Charles Kofi Wayo, has described deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as sometimes stupid in the discharge of his duties. According to Kofi Wayo, the deputy Information Minister appears to have lost sight of his core duty of defending and putting the President in the best possible light and is rather becoming part of Professor Mills problems in governing the country. He is therefore recommending that the President dismiss the longest serving Deputy at the Information Ministry because he is becoming a liability. Commenting on Adom FMs Dwaso Nsem Morning Show about yesterdays heavily touted press conference which was meant to release details of a scandalous judgment debt incurred during the NPP but only showed that Nana Akufo-Addo, as Attorney General had recommended the payment of a settlement debt to a Swiss company, Kofi Wayo declared: Okudzeto, sometimes to use pure American English, is sometimes just stupid. This is ridiculous. We all know this. What was the point? Why did you spend the taxpayers money (in holding the press conference?). Why couldnt you just call Graphic and say this is the situation? Why didnt have to spend so much money with all these officials? Thats the waste thats going on, and Atta Mills got to arrest this kind of situation. Thats his job to do so. He continued: Why would you have a Press Conference just to say Akufo-Addo did not do anything wrong? Why? He did something wrong! Thats why you had the press conference. And you are saying that you are not doing it because of him, so why did you have the press conference? He told Adakabre Frimpong Manso, host of the show: I think the President should fire the guy now! He is becoming part of the problem. Where are all the other ministers? Why are they not defending the president? Why are they all quiet, the people around him? Are they sharing the money with other people? Where is the defence of Atta Mills? The substantive Minister of Information also came in for some tongue-lashing. Informed that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa was introduced by Fritz Baffour, Wayo exclaimed, then he too is stupid to do it. Period. The URP leaders comments echo earlier statements by NPP Communications Director Nana Akomea, who insisted the press conference revealed nothing that could ruin the NPPs 2012 campaign as promised by the Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. At Monday's news conference, government described as hypocritical, comments by Nana Akufo Addo that judgement debts payments being made under President John Mills would not have passed under his watch. According to the Deputy Minister, the NPP flagbearer had earlier on endorsed a payment of about $ 1.1 million to the Great Cape Company of Switzerland when he was the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice. However, speaking on Asempa FMs political discussion programme Ekosii Sen on Monday, Nana Akomea noted that the government would have served the nation right by avoiding this baseless so-called revelation or expos which has nothing in it that would scare the NPP. Is that all Okudzeto Ablakwa has been so vociferous and boisterous about since last week? There is nothing scandalous about this at all. It is simply an endorsement of recommendation passed by an NDC government the NPP took over in 2001. What is wrong about that? If Nana Addo deems what they have recommended good and he is also endorsing, what is scandalous about it? In fact, simply put they just wasted our time, he asserted. If this is what the NDC was aiming to put out there, then why the huge advertisement since last weekend? Frankly speaking it contains nothing. It is the government which has even exonerated Nana Addo. NDC and its serial callers were making noise of another expose of a judgement debt, meanwhile it was just this thing? I am sorry for them he said.
