Changes in Financial Documents For UK Visa Applications

Change in Acceptable Financial Documents for Ghanaian and Cameroonian Visa Applicants under the Points Based System. The Visa Section of the British High Commission wishes to announce to the general public that with effect from Monday 13th August 2012, we will only accept evidence of funds for Ghanaian and Cameroonian Point Based System applicants from the 29 Class 1 banks that are regulated by the Bank of Ghana and the 13 banks registered with CEMAC see the list below, which is also available at - www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/studying/financial-institutions/. From 13th August 2012 any applicant that submits financial evidence from any institution not on the list below will have their application automatically refused. Visa applicants should note that micro finance institutes and credit unions are not currently included on the lists, because of the difficulty we have had in satisfactorily verifying documents from this type of organization. The following criteria provide an example of the minimum standard required for the Visa Section to satisfactorily verify documentation: international banks; or national banks with a UK private banking presence; or regulated national / state banks that provide a core banking service. The addition or removal of each bank to or from the list will be considered regularly.
