Koku Is Deceitful; Rawlingses Are On Our Side - NDP

The acting General Secretary of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Dr. Joseph Manboah-Rockson, insists the Rawlingses are one of the pivots of the party, and rubbished claims that they will join President John Mills on the campaign trail. Former President Jerry Rawlings met sitting President Mills at the Castle last week and reports are that the former went to express his goodwill after the latter returned from a check-up trip some few weeks ago. However, the Communication Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho, is reported to have said the meeting between the two whose strained relationship has affected the front and image of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) shows that there is no cause for alarm among party members. Conversely, Dr. Manboah-Rockson has told Citi News Mr. Anyidoho was at his spinning best to gain political capital out of the meeting at the Castle, which was just a normal visit by Mr. Rawlings to know how the President was doing health-wise. After leading the partys delegation to the EC to present a list of founding members of the party, he said: He [Anyidoho] was just deceiving the grassroot supporters because what they went there to discuss was totally different from what he is asserting. I dont know where he got his information from. The acting scribe told Citi News Rabiu Mohammed: The Rawlingses are behind the NDP and they will strongly campaign for us after we have launched our party. Dr. Manboah-Rockson fell short to disclose the names of the NDP founders, but confirmed they have furnished the electoral body with all the founding members across the country and are awaiting response from the Dr. Afari-Gyan-led Electoral Commission.
