Young Patriots Demo In Danger

Daily Guide has gathered that the hierarchy of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern region is panicking over the intended demonstration by the Young Patriots of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern regional capital, Koforidua. The Young Patriots intend to use the demonstration to highlight the alleged neglect of the home region of the partys flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo. According to DAILY GUIDEs intelligence, party officials in the region have been meeting constantly with the regional minister, Victor Smith to mitigate the effect of the demonstration, which takes place on August 6. Reliable sources say that on Thursday, July 19 regional party officials were locked up in a meeting with the regional minister during which they discussed the Eastern regional youth organiser of the NPP, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the man who has been a thorn in the flesh of the NDC in the region. According to reliable sources, the regional minister, Victor Smith vowed at the meeting to deal ruthlessly with the regional youth organiser of the NPP if he continues to be a stumbling block in the way of the NDC in the region. They also planned to use the police to brutalize the demonstrators if they misbehave or create problems in the course of the demonstration and for that reason the NDC is diabolically planning to sponsor their own people to infiltrate the demonstrators and cause troubles for the organizers. When the NPP youth organiser was hinted about the reports, he said he could never be intimidated because he knows he is fighting for good cause not only for the region but the whole the country. Our forefathers who fought for independence suffered the same fate and yet they triumphed so I am going to be encouraged by that spirit and fight harder for the development and progress of the country, he said, adding that he is not bothered by any mischievous plans of the NDC scuttle the intended demonstration because that will be a price to pay in the supreme interest of the party. He also said any attempt to disorganize the demonstration will backfire because Ghanaians currently know their rights and could not be intimidated in anyway.
