The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John has clarified the �All die be die� statement made by the party�s flagbearer, Nana Addo ahead of the December polls. Mr. Kwadwo Owusus Afriyie explained that the 2012 presidential candidate of the party did not make the �all die be die� pronouncement to encourage NPP members to disrupt the upcoming elections by engaging in violent acts, snatching ballot boxes, beating up voters to prevent them from casting their votes as members of the NDC had alleged. Rather, �all die be die� means doing everything possible to prevent acts that encourage rigging, snatching of ballot boxes and double voting. The NPP scribe gave the explanation while addressing members of the Ghanaian community in a town hall meeting which was held at Ghanaian Presbyterian Church in Toronto-Canada on July 21, 2012. Prior to his speech, some members in the community expressed fear that that there will be violence during the general elections and that the NPP would engage in the violent acts. The party�s chief scribe stated that happenings in Ghana directly affects its citizens residing in foreign countries and stressed the need for Ghanaians living in the Diaspora to show concern about activities in the country. He charged members of the Ghanaian community in the Diaspora to support a worthy cause by assisting the party to come to power to take the country to the promise land. He appealed to the Ghanaian community to support the party headquarters by obtaining 400 vehicles, one each for the 230 constituencies and two vehicles for the 10 regions to send the men and women to the field to spread the party�s message of hope to win votes.
