President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday gave the assurance that government would continue to resource all the security networks of the country to enable them to effectively execute their duties. He said already the Ghana Armed Forces and the Police Service had over the years carved a niche for themselves in international peace-keeping programmes and it was only fair that government resourced them adequately to carry out their mandate. President Mahama said these when heads of the various security services called on him at the Castle, Osu, to commiserate with him for the death of President John Evans Atta Mills and to pledge their unflinching support for his administration. Present were the Minister of The Interior, Mr William Kwesi Aboa, Chief of Defence Staff, Mr Peter Augustine Blay, and Paul Tawiah Quaye, Inspector General of Police, among other top security bosses. President Mahama commended the security services for their tremendous contribution to the peace and stability in the country and promised that he would continue to collaborate with them to ensure perpetual peace in the country. He said he had over the past three years enjoyed the support of the military and police since late President Mills made him Commander-In Chief of both the Ghana Armed Forces and the Police Service and pledged to continue that relationship for the betterment of the country. Mr Peter Augustine Blay, Chief of Defence Staff gave the assurance that everything concerning security was under control and pledged their support for the government. �We shall continue to provide security to ensure peace and stability and we pray that God will grant you strength and guidance to carry out your mandate,� he stated.
