Asamoah Gyan Hits Back At Nyaho-Tamakloe

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has hit out at ex-FA president Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe for his persistent attacks on him and other Black Stars players. The UAE-based attacker says he wants to concentrate on playing well for the national team rather than the distasteful comments from the ex-Hearts of Oak chief. The controversial self-styled football administration guru condemned the decision by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to welcome the the Al Ain striker back to the national team after a short self-imposed exile. Other players like Derek Boateng, John Paintsil and John Mensah have not been spared the tongue-lashing by Tamakloe who claims they are too old to play for the national team. Gyan says the recent comments by Tamakloe could demoralize players.I dont even know who him(Tamakloe). Who is he? To be honest I dont know him in person, Gyan said. Even if I meet him in person I cant recognize him so I am surprised how he reacts to issues regarding my persona especially and other Black Stars players in general. This is not the first time. During the Nations Cup in 2008 he passed similar demoralizing comments about me. The man is fond of doing that. I believe he is an elderly person but his remarks on most of us Black Stars players have been very distasteful. It is quite unfortunate but I dont want to pay attention to his comments. What is important to me now is to concentrate on my return to the Black Stars and do well to impress my fans. Gyan is expected to be named in Ghanas squad to face China in a friendly next month.
