The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) on Sunday urged Ghanaians to emulate the sterling character traits of Late President John Evans Atta Mills.
Ghana has lost an exemplary leader with sterling character traits, the Association stated in a communiqu at the end of its Fourth National Executive Council Meeting in Ho on Sunday.
The Association said the death of President Mills has united the country more than ever and this attests to his peaceful nature.
The GMA was hopeful that in the midst of these trying and sorrowful times, the country would still find space to give full support to the newly sworn in President, John Dramani Mahama.
It urged President Mahama to re-dedicate and commit himself to serve the nation including taking the necessary steps to ensure the peaceful conduct of the upcoming general elections in December 2012.
