NDCs Felix Ofosu Kwakye Fires Back... Jabs AFAG And Medical Association

A member of the NDC communication team, Felix Ofosu Kwakye has rubbished calls for investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the late President John Evans Atta Mills. Several bodies including pressure group, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) and the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) have impressed upon President John Dramani Mahama to institute a Presidential committee to investigate the death of his predecessor. Those bodies are convinced such investigations will put to rest the varied speculations on the subject. But speaking on Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana show, Tuesday August 14 edition, Felix Ofosu Kwakye indicated there was no such law that required a corners report on the Presidents death. The Presidents circumstance do not qualify under any of these sub sections in this provision so let those who are claiming that there is legal basis for demanding the coroners inquest produce the specific sections of the law that requires that . He lamented, I would have imagined that when people were making those claims over the Presidents death some of them are Lawyers, Yaw Boabeng Asamoah is a Lawyer and Nana Asante Bediatuo is a Lawyer and how is it that they could not state any provisions of the law to support their claims and have managed to mislead otherwise well meaning citizens of this country to make similar calls. The Ghana Medical Association call, what is the legal basis for making such a call? If something does not exist in law you cannot make a demand for it. Felix Ofosu Kwakye asked members of the New Patriotic Party to stop doing vile propaganda with the late President Mills death. Persons in the NPP who are seeking justifications for the vile propaganda that has been waged against the late President are insisting that necessarily there must be an investigation because there was something wrong and they have not been able to tell us what went wrong; in any event they should point out the so-called contradictions. In a sharp rebuttal, the NPP Member of Parliament for Bimbila, Hon. Dominick Nitiwul called the bluff of Mr. Felixs assertions and insisted the Presidents death should be investigated. He made reference to similar demands made by Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa, Mr. Ward Brew and other interest groups to buttress his point. I am not sure Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa is NPP, I am not the Ghana Medical Association is NPP, I am not sure Mr. Ward Brew is NPP and they have all added their voices on calls for the late Presidents death should be investigated. Hon. Nitiwul challenged the NDC communication team members to concentrate on repairing the damages caused in handling the late President Mills health and his shocking demise. We all know that there are varied speculations on circumstances that led to the late Presidents death; the state has a version, the sister has a version, the Abusua-Panyin has a version and the brother has a version. The NPP Bimbila Legislator further advised the NDC communication team members to stop attacking the NPP on issues emanating from within that are damaging the governments image. I have heard a lot of NDC people say that well if Nana Addo is insulted others should not insult the late President because they are not the same because one is a President and the latter is just a flag bearer. He said, I just want to say that us a people we have done ourselves very good especially in the eyes of the international community and lets continue in that trend and let the insults cease.
