Government Promises To Make 2012 Hajj Trouble Free

The Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has expressed the determination of government to make this year's Hajj by the Muslim Community trouble-free. He was speaking last night at the second annual night of power, a prayer session by the Muslim community at the Banquet Hall in Accra. Other speakers at the programme included a Supreme Court Judge, Mr Justice William Atuguba, representing the Chief Justice and the Deputy Majority leader, Rashid Pelpuo. Meanwhile, the public is reminded that Sunday 19th of this month which marks Eidul-Fitr, is a statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country. A statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior however says in view of the fact that the day falls on Sunday, Monday 20th of this month has been declared a public holiday and should be observed as such.
