"NDC Are Slogan Thieves"

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, said the party is withholding its 2012 campaign slogan ahead of its manifesto launch scheduled for Saturday, September 25 at the Accra International Conference Centre. In reference to the NDC slogan for elections 2012 codenamed, You matter, people matter which according to him was originated by the NPP, Mr. Owusu Afriyie said the party is afraid the NDC will once again steal the new slogan. He said: As for the new slogan let us wait until we get there; you know what when we brought people matter, you matter, the NDC stole it and said that it is their slogan and we have said because they lack ideas let them have that. The NPP chief scribe affectionately called Sir John said the new slogan would be announced on the day of the manifesto launch. If indeed people do matter and they have shunned us all unless people in the NDC who matter let them have and wait and see at the manifesto launch. You will hear much about our new slogan. The event which is expected to be climaxed with a mammoth rally at the Manche Agbona, Accra James Town will be addressed by NPP bigwigs including former President John Agyekum Kufuor, the partys flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo and his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He gave the assurance that the rally will be devoid of insults and character assassination by the various speakers. We eschew politics of insults, we dont attack personalities and anytime NPP spoke about President Mills it was about his leadership skills and about the way he was leading Ghana into the ditch, Sir John Sir. He continued, We have been careful to separate the person from leadership and we will not speak ill or evil about anybody and will not attack anybody but will tell the people about this incompetent administration unleashed on the people of this country; about their corruption and everything they have done to move this country backward and that will not amount to insults.
