Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, told XYZ News that, "We are leaving nothing to chance to ensure a fitting congress in Kumasi." The congress is divided into two parts. The first session would end at about 2 pm involving the congress itself where the nominee for the flagbearer position would be confirmed. This is reserved for the delegates only. The second part is the manifesto launch where thousands of party members would fill the stadium to be addressed by party leaders. Meanwhile, spokesperson of former President Rawlings has also confirmed that the founder of the NDC will attend the congress. Kofi Adams also denied claims that the former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings is persuading her husband from attending the congress. ECG officials in the region have assured of uninterrupted supply of electricity in and around the congress venue after. The transformer which supplies power to some parts of the Asokwa area where the congress will be held has been faulty since yesterday which interrupted power supply to the stadium.
