BRENDAN RODGERS wants Michael Owen and Didier Drogba in a desperate bid to solve his striker crisis. Liverpool were short of firepower in yesterdays defeat by Arsenal.
Boss Rodgers admitted: Ive a very small group here, there were 19 players training yesterday with some young players among them.
Any player I believe can improve the squad, I will look at theres absolutely no question about that.
I cannot say no to anything. I have to look a ways to change the group. We need reinforcements.
Drogba was released by Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua yesterday.
Former Liverpool striker Owen is a free agent after being let go by Manchester United.
Liverpool allowed 35million striker Andy Carroll to join West Ham on a seasons loan before the transfer window closed on Friday.
Chelsea legend Drogba and Owen can join clubs after the deadline as they are unattached.
Rodgers was asked whether the clubs American owners would meet Drogbas big wage demands.
He admitted: I will have to ask the question, wont I?
The reality is we need reinforcements. But we have to concentrate on the players who are here.
