Christians Should Shun Anointing Oil

The Bethel Kwabenya Prayer Ministry has launched a weeklong revival for its members with a call on Christians to avoid buying the so-called anointing oils and concoctions for the solution of their problems. Rather Christians should put their hopes and faith in the Lord for the resolution of their troubles, they advised. The revival or the (Breaking Session) of the Ministry is on the theme: Gods Invitation to Mankind with the text from Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Prophet Douglas Nana Tih, General Overseer of the Bethel Kwabenya Prayer Ministry, gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday at the church premises at Kwabenya. He said the revival is aimed at awakening members of some false pastors and prophets who are misleading the people in believing in some concoctions and selling them to the unsuspecting Christians. These so-called men of God prepare some concoctions, anointing oils and many other things to swindle the congregation in believing that their problems would be solved through that, Prophet Nana Tih said, adding that; Jesus did not sell any anointing oil to any of his followers. Prophet Nana Tih advised Christians to beware of these false preachers and should always study the Bible to guide them in their lives so as to avoid the temptations of the evil ones. He urged the false pastors and prophets to emulate Jesus Christ by teaching and leading their flocks on the right path of the gospel. Prophet Nana Tih said as part of the churchs social responsibilities it has built a community school to serve the deprived in the area with voluntary financial support from members and individuals in the running of the facility. He said the church which has a congregation of about 1,000 members with 16 branches had undertaken water project, teak plantation and that plans were far advanced in constructing a community clinic next year. On the forthcoming elections, Prophet Nana Tih said; It is God who enthrones a chief and that it was important for Christians to go and vote peacefully and return home and pray without engaging in any fight.
