OGC Nice Move Called Off Jordan Ayew

Olympique Marseille striker Jordan Ayew will no longer be joining French Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice. The 20-year-old exclusively told Goal.com Ghana that the deal has been called off for several reasons hence he will have to focus on his career at the Stade Velodrome this season. Reports were rife that Marseille had granted the Ghana international a release in order to pave way for him to move to Nice. We were almost close to signing a deal, but I have just been told that it has been called off, Ayew informed Goal.com Ghana when he landed at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Tuesday. The son of Africa football legend, Abedi Pele, could have landed a season-long loan deal. He was earlier on the radar of English Premier League side Reading, but the Stade Velodrome side blocked the move. Nice expressed interest in Jordan last two months but the Ghanaian international turned down the offer. Ayew is in Ghana for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi on September 8 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
