Samuel Inkoom�s decision to play in the 2011 All African Games qualifier against Nigeria has accounted for his woes at club level, reports in Ukraine have claimed.
The 21-year-old captained the Under-23 team to overturn a 3-1 defeat against the Nigerians to qualify to the multi-sports event held in Mozambique after being reluctantly released by his Ukrainian outfit Dnipro.
The former Asante Kotoko right back forfeited part of his salary � all in an offort to persuade the team to allow him to lead the Black Meteors � a scenario which according to reports in Ukraine infuriated head coach Juande Ramos.
The former Real Madrid coach is reported to have warned him against the decision to play for his native country and has therefore decided to consistently leave him on the bench despite impressing at training.
The former FC Basel player could consider his options after German giants Bayern Munich and English side Newcastle United reportedly enquired about his availability.
Inkoom will not be short of offers if he decides to leave Dnipro during the January transfer window following strings of impressive performances at the international level in the past.
He shot to prominence in 2009 when he helped the Black Satellites clinched the Fifa Under-20 World Youth Championship crown.
He was also a member of the Black Stars squad that reached the quarter-finals of the Fifa World Cup in Germany in 2010.
