CID Under Pressure To Arrest NDCs Yaw Boateng Gyan

Some concerned citizens of Ghana have officially petitioned the Ghana Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to arrest the National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan. Mr. Gyan was caught on a leaked tape promising to help party foot soldiers to infiltrate the countrys security agencies specifically, the Special Forces to help the partys agenda in the upcoming elections. According to the group, the petition is to urge the investigative outfit to arrest the NDC stalwart. Addressing the media after presenting the petition, the spokesperson for the group, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah said they are expectant that by close of Monday, Mr. Gyan would have been arrested. He said: We just handed the petition addressed to the CID boss together with a copy of the tape which they claim they have not heard ever since this tape hit town. But we have given them a copy of the recording and he has assured us that the committee will sit, listen to the tape and pick the details that they can work with and hopefully, they will work on it. Mr. Korsah also mentioned that if the laws of Ghana do work, we expect that by the close of today, Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan should be arrested, subject to some questioning and as soon as possible without delay, some prosecution should be underway. He, however, cautioned the National Security Coordinator, Gbevlo Lartey to remove himself from this matter because his office and unit have been seriously indicted in this issue and so he should also be made to face a committee to explain himself.
