Asamoah Gyan Backs Pantsil To Make Ghana Return

Ghana striker Asamah Gyan is backing John Pantsil to make a return to the senior national team. The 30-year-old is determined to revive his career after a difficult spell at English Championship side Leceister City. He is returning to his best after featuring for Hapoel Tel Aviv in their last 2 Premier League games and played full throttle in their Uefa Europa League against Dudelange last month. The former West Ham and Fulham experienced right back was a surprised omission from the Ghana squad that beat Malawi in the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi on Saturday despite playing regularly for his Israeli side. But the Al Ain attacker is confident the ex-Berekum Arsenals player will stage a comeback to the national team. You know he (Pantsil) just started playing constantly for his new side after a difficult time at Leicester and so I believe in due time he will return to the national team, Gyan said He is an experienced player and one that we need in the team. He has been around for a long time and he is part of this unit, He is picking his form gradually and I believe if he gathers the momentum he can stage a comeback. Many Black Stars players including Andre Ayew has touted the need for experienced players like Pantsil, John Mensah, Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien to quickly get back into the team to help them achieve their target of qualifying to the Cup of Nations and ending their 31-year trophy drought on the continent. Pantsil has two world cups under his belt and has an incredible 85 senior caps for the West African heavyweights.
