I Lost Miserably - Shaaba

The Member of Parliament for Nkwakwa in the Eastern Region, Seth Adjei Baah, says he has not as yet decided whether to run as an independent candidate again after losing the primaries of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the weekend. Shaaba, as he is popularly known, won the seat in 2008 as an independent candidate following certain disagreements between him and the NPP. The party, as part of efforts to rope in all disgruntled former members decided to get independent MPs like Shaba reunited with the party; thus his decision to run in the primaries. Seth Adjei Baah polled 26 votes while his main contender bagged 192 ballots. He describes his loss as a miserable defeat but says he is yet to decide whether to run again as an independent candidate or not. The MP said I decided to go in for the primary and I lost miserably; gargantuan defeat and I have taken it in good faith and life must move on, he said adding I took a risk and any decision taken you should be able to take the subsequent results that happens." He however said he does not feel any regret going into the elections even though he could not win the primaries. He debunked the assertion that in 2008, he went independent because he lost the primary stressing that this was the first opportunity to contest on the ticket of the NPP.
