Uruguay 0 � 5 Ghana; Five-Star Maidens Baptize Uruguayans In Women�s W�Cup

The national Under-17 women�s soccer team the Black maidens have beaten their Uruguayan counterparts by five(5) goals to nil in the on-going women�s U-17 world Cup in Azerbaijan. The maidens opened the score line in the 8th minute through a Jane Ayieyam header from a corner kick. Captain Priscilla Okyere doubled it through a rebound header in the 24th minute after the Uruguayan keeper failed to grab a long shot. On the stroke of Half-time Alberta Ahialey beautifully capitalized on a goalkeeping howler and rounded off the Uruguayan keeper after she failed to keep hold of a low shot to give the maidens a half-time lead. The Ghanaians showed class throughout the duration of the match, exhibiting skills and artistry on the pitch to outclass their opponents. Twelve minutes from regulation time Fatima Alhassan drove into the net a long range shot past the Uruguayan shot stopper before Captain Priscilla Okyere sealed it off with another long range shot in the 79th minute.
