Vice President's Wife Makes A Pledge

The government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not disappoint the people of the Western Region, says Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur, wife of the Vice President. She has therefore asked the electorate to have faith in the Mahama-led administration, which is the best government to promote the development of the region and the country at large. Mrs. Amissah-Arthur, who has been on the campaign trail with her husband, Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, gave the assurance when she addressed the chiefs and people of Ellembelle yesterday. According to her, the ruling government had a proven track record of development, especially in the region, and urged the people to vote massively for the party to continue the good works. We will never neglect you, she assured the people of Ellembelle, her hometown. According to her, although victory of the party in the December election had been assured, supporters of the party should not be complacent, but continue to work hard. She described her husbands appointment as a blessing for the area, assuring the chiefs that their interests would be promoted. God has blessed you and the NDC, she said, saying the God would ensure the victory of the NDC so the Vice President can execute the purpose of his divine appointment. Be vigilant, tolerant, truthful and God-fearing, she admonished the people of the area. Nana Akporh V, Chief of Asanta, welcoming the Vice President, the campaign team and his entourage to the area, declared their support for the government to continue the Better Ghana Agenda. He prayed for Gods guidance and strength for the Vice President to support President Mahama to promote socio-economic growth, and urged him to consider the development concerns of the area.
