Political Parties Confirm Participation To Contest In All 45 New Constituencies

The controversies that characterised the EC's decision to create additional 45 constituencies have ended after a decisive debate in Parliament. The CI 78 is now an Act, giving the EC the go ahead. Meanwhile, the NDC says it is confident of winning convincingly seats in the 45 Constituencies to be created. Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Propaganda Secretary, Richard Quashiegah said the NDC has already selected candidates for the Constituencies. He denied the notion that the NDC left the EC with no option than to create the 45 Constituencies in order to gain undue advantage over other political parties. The MP for Okere, Dan Botwe who is also the Director of Strategies of the NPP has confirmed that the NPP will contest in the 45 new constituencies to be created. He said now that the CI 78 has been passed into law, the NPP will conform to the law despite the short time to prepare and go through the required processes. The PNC is also ready to contest in the new constituencies saying the greatest logistic they have to win, is the people who believe in the ideals of the party. In another development, the CPP also says it is ready and prepared to contest in the 45 Constituencies to be created. The Deputy Communication Director for the party, Ernesto Yeboah noted that the CPP has bright chances of winning in some areas such as Tema Central and Sowutuom.
