NPP Is Desperate Fifi Kwetey

A Deputy Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Fifi Kwetey has stated that the NPP is resorting to vicious and desperate tactics for their campaign this year. The Deputy Minister was reacting to NPPs claim that the Mahama-led administration has mismanaged the countrys economy. The Economic Committee of the NPP at a press conference held in Kumasi on Wednesday said there has been no real growth in the economy despite the emergence of oil production in Ghana. Speaking on the Citi Eye Witness News,Mr. Kwetey debunked the NPPs assertion saying, they are better managers of the economy as compared to the NPP government. He said: The NPP pretends as though somehow during their tenure all was rosy in agriculture. In the year 2007 the agriculture sector growth was negative and this is a situation that between 2009 to date has not happened. Talking about, for example the fishing sector, in 2007 the sub sector hosted a negative growth of 7.2%, which was under the NPP tenure. What the NPP is doing is what we call selectivity; they pick and choose according to their mischief in mind. Just like they are picking and choosing which of the statistical services analysis they like to use, the same way they pick and choose the agricultural growth or other growths, he opined.
